Disney Cruise Line has installed a three-deck-tall storybook castle aboard the Disney Adventure, marking the first Disney castle at sea.
The centrepiece now stands in Disney Imagination Garden, featuring a pop-up book aesthetic that sets it apart from traditional Disney Parks castles. Walt Disney Imagineering designed the piece with maritime influences, incorporating wave patterns and ocean blues throughout the facade to celebrate its placement at sea.
A Castle at Sea: Design Details

The castle’s storybook style uses paper cut-out layers to create depth and dimension. At its centre sits the Disney family crest – the same emblem found on every Disney Parks castle worldwide – surrounded by a three-panel stained glass window.
Each panel honours a Disney heroine through natural elements:
- Moana: water, sky, and the heart of Te Fiti
- Tangled: sun, earth, and the Sundrop flower
- Frozen: ice and wind
A waterfall feature at the castle’s base references the iconic cascade seen in the Walt Disney Pictures logo before films. The design also includes hidden details and Easter eggs, including a concealed Mickey.
The Disney Adventure will begin sailing in spring 2026.
