Could Disney’s Magical Express be making a grand return? Walt Disney World has launched a pilot program testing the return of its popular Resort Airline Check-In service.
This move, which began today (31st March 2025), could signal a broader revival of seamless travel perks for Disney guests – including a possible comeback of Disney’s Magical Express.
About Disney Resort Airline Check-In
Resort Airline Check-In previously allowed guests to check their luggage at their Disney resort on departure day, letting them travel to the airport without the hassle of carrying suitcases. Upon arrival at their home airport, their bags would be waiting at baggage claim.
In the past, this service also worked in reverse, with Disney sending guests yellow luggage tags to attach to their suitcases at their home airport. Their checked bags would then be magically delivered directly to their Disney resort room.
Although often associated with Disney’s Magical Express, the airline check-in program and the complimentary airport shuttle service were actually separate third-party services packaged together under Disney branding. Notably, they were discontinued at different times.
Service Restrictions
While no official announcement has been made, this service is in its early stages at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. The service is being operated by third-party company Bag Check and is currently only available for Southwest Airlines’ guests leaving the resort to the airport.
Currently, you cannot book this service online; it’s available only by word of mouth. Not very helpful but – fingers crossed – this could be the start of a wider return to the Magical Express service.
