Shanghai Disney Resort is marking its 10th anniversary with a year-long celebration called “With You, It’s Magic+”, kicking off on 20th March. New entertainment, décor, merchandise, and character experiences are all part of the milestone, so here’s what’s worth knowing.

A New Castle Show and Nighttime Spectacular

Disney Shanghai Glimmer Castle Show

The centrepiece of the anniversary is “The Heart of Magic”, a brand-new stage production set across Enchanted Storybook Castle.

Three satellite stages and connecting bridges have been added to bring the action closer to guests, as Mickey and Friends set off on a quest to restore the Heart of Magic alongside characters from Cinderella, Frozen, Coco, Mulan, Hercules, and more.

Two notable debuts come with the show: Hercules makes his first appearance at Shanghai Disneyland, while Miguel from Coco steps into his first major park role at the resort.

The nighttime spectacular “Illuminate!” is also getting a refresh, with a brand-new finale featuring Mickey in a magician ensemble, plus a new segment inspired by Wish featuring Asha and Star.

The Parade Is Getting Bigger

The existing “Mickey’s Storybook Express” parade is gaining two new additions. Duffy and Friends will lead the procession on a golden ship float, with select guests invited to join the parade itself.

Behind them, a Zootopia-themed float built around Gazelle’s concert bus rolls in with Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and a cast of Zootopia residents, with music pulling from both the original film and the upcoming Zootopia 2.

Anniversary Bites Across the Resort

Noodle dishes will appear across menus throughout the resort in a nod to one of China’s most beloved birthday traditions, alongside signature flavours inspired by cities across the country.

Fan-favourite snacks from the past decade will also make a return, which should please anyone with a soft spot for the park’s greatest hits. Popcorn buckets and sippers have also been teased.

An Interactive Wand and the Resort’s Biggest Merch Drop

Shanghai Disney Resort is billing this as its largest dedicated merchandise collection ever, releasing plush, apparel, accessories, and collectibles.

The standout new addition is the Magic Wand, an interactive accessory that lets guests “summon and collect magic” across the park, similar in concept to interactive wands at Universal parks.

Collectible park tickets are also launching on 20th March, featuring 30 Disney characters across 30 different designs, each with a puzzle piece element that forms a complete image over multiple visits.

The anniversary celebration begins on 20th March 2025 and runs for the full year.
