Universal Orlando has delayed the reopening of Stardust Racers once more, with the Epic Universe roller coaster now not expected to reopen until 6th April 2026.
The coaster has been closed since mid-February, originally scheduled for a short refurbishment from 19th to 22nd February.
That window was extended to 28th February, then pushed again to 15th March, and has now slipped to 6th April, meaning the ride will have been out of action for around 45 days by the time it returns.
Universal Adding Extra Capacity
About the extended closure, Universal shared the following statement:
“Stardust Racers is undergoing its first annual planned inspection and maintenance process. We are efficiently completing the work all at once and are also making additional capacity and throughput enhancements, which is extending the temporary closure period.”
Stardust Racers only opened in May 2025 as part of Epic Universe’s launch. It is Universal’s first duelling coaster since Dragon Challenge closed in 2017, which made it one of the more anticipated additions to the new park.
Universal has not given a specific reason for the current extended closure. Given the pattern of missed reopening dates, we expect the 6th April date may change.
