The Universal Kids Resort lands have finally been revealed – and we cannot wait to experience them. Set to open in Frisco, Texas, in 2026, this one-of-a-kind destination is the latest addition to Universal’s ever-growing park roster.
Families visiting Universal Kids Resort will step into immersive themed lands inspired by DreamWorks, Nickelodeon, Illumination, and Jurassic World. From Shrek’s swamp to the depths of Bikini Bottom, every corner of the park will boast all-out fun.

“At each point, we considered how we could design a place especially for kids where they could explore, imagine, and adventure with their families and friends.”
Here’s what’s in store…
Shrek’s Swamp: Stomp, climb, and play in a muddy, magical playground built by the lovable ogre himself. Shrek, Donkey, and Fiona are ready to welcome guests into their fairytale world.
Bikini Bottom: SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy Cheeks invite visitors to dive under the sea for a day of boating school, beachside relaxation, and bubble-blowing fun.
Minion Madness: A peaceful vacation retreat? Nah, not a chance. This splash-filled zone turns into a wild, hilarious competition between Yellow and Purple Minions – expect surprises at every turn.
Jurassic World Explorers: Young adventurers will come face-to-face with dinosaurs in interactive ways designed just for them. A thrilling land for budding palaeontologists!
Trolls Music Festival: Get ready to sing, dance, and sparkle! Poppy, Branch, and the gang host a colourful, joy-filled festival where everyone shines bright.
Puss in Boots’ Fiesta: Join Puss in Boots, Kitty Softpaws, and Perrito at a kitty adoption drive with festive games, fun rides, and delicious food. Need a break? The sensory garden is perfect for a cat nap.
Gabby’s Dollhouse Experience: Step inside Gabby’s magical dollhouse for an immersive retail experience, where kids can meet Gabby herself.
What Else Can We Expect?
Families will find shady green spaces, interactive play areas, and several spots to rest and recharge inside the resort.
Plus, themed dining, character meet-and-greets, or exciting souvenirs will also be available. And, to top it all off, a vibrant 300-room on-site hotel will serve as the perfect home base, giving families a place to stay, play, and relax.
