Disney Imagineers have shared a sneak peek at Magic Kingdom’s Pirates of the Caribbean lounge, opening later in 2025. In a new Instagram Reel, Imagineer Montse takes guests into the heart of construction for a progress update.
Located beside the Plaza Del Sol Caribe Bazaar, the new lounge will occupy the former space of the Pirates League and promises to immerse guests in the rich lore of Pirates of the Caribbean.
One highlight of the new lounge is the return of a beloved piece of Disney history. An audio-animatronic Barker Bird, known as Peg-Leg Pete, will take pride of place behind the bar. From 1973 to 2006, this feathery fella welcomed guests outside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Now, he is making a grand comeback to entertain patrons while they enjoy a tipple or two.
Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge: Take a Peek

Beyond the bar, guests can retreat to the Captain’s Quarters, a cosy area designed for relaxing with food and drinks. The pirate lounge’s immersive design promises to transport visitors into a swashbuckling world where treasures await.
True to the spirit of Pirates of the Caribbean, the tavern will brim with nautical decor and magical touches. Eagle-eyed adventurers might spot a feature wall lined with ships in bottles or encounter eerie, ghostly portraits. Take a look for yourself below:
As construction continues, anticipation grows for the day when seasoned buccaneers can step inside and experience the magic firsthand. Keep your eyes peeled for opening news later this year.
