Disney has released photos and footage of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets ahead of its official opening on 26th May, and the reimagined attraction looks every bit as chaotic as you’d hope.
The End of an Era
The ride replaces Aerosmith with The Electric Mayhem, the Muppets’ house band. Aerosmith headlined the coaster from its 1999 opening until it closed on 2nd March 2026.
The new premise follows Dr. Teeth, Animal, Floyd, Janice, Zoot, and Lips as they prepare for the biggest concert Hollywood has ever seen, only to find themselves running very late.
Guests join a VIP tour of G-Force Records, the band’s fictional recording studio, before boarding a supercharged limo to get everyone across town in time.
What’s New
The track layout and high-speed launch (zero to 57mph in 2.8 seconds, three inversions) remain unchanged. The overhaul is all in the storytelling and show elements.
The centrepiece is the first-ever Audio-Animatronic figure of Scooter, built using motion-capture technology and tasked with convincing The Electric Mayhem to stop rehearsing and get to their fans.
The queue winds through G-Force Records, packed with band posters, costume displays, and celebrity cameos featuring the likes of Neil Patrick Harris, Travis Barker, and “Weird Al” Yankovic.
The set list is:
- Song 2 by The Electric Mayhem
- Born to Be Wild by The Electric Mayhem ft. Camilla the Chicken
- Love Rollercoaster by The Electric Mayhem ft. Jennifer Hudson and Questlove
- Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop) by The Electric Mayhem ft. Def Leppard
- Walking on Sunshine by The Electric Mayhem ft. Kelly Clarkson
Outside, the attraction’s iconic guitar marquee has received a bold psychedelic makeover inspired by the classic Muppet car paint job.
When Can You Ride?
Annual Passholder previews run on 21st, 22nd, and 23rd May via virtual queue. The attraction officially opens to all guests on 26th May with a standard standby queue and Lightning Lane.
