Disney’s Hollywood Studios has confirmed that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will close in 2026 for its major transformation. The reimagined coaster will star Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem in what promises to be a rockin’ music festival experience.

The announcement provides the first concrete timeline for the changeover, though Disney has not yet specified an exact closing date within 2026. The company expects the Muppets-themed version to open by the end of that same year, suggesting a relatively swift transformation once construction begins.

Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy will join forces with the Electric Mayhem band members – Dr. Teeth, Floyd Pepper, Janice, Lips, Animal, and Zoot – for what Disney describes as a collaboration with “some of music’s biggest stars.” The promotional poster released last year showcases the full Electric Mayhem lineup, though additional Muppets characters may appear in pre-show areas or throughout the ride experience.

The transformation extends beyond the coaster itself, with The Muppets also taking over Rock Around the Shop, the merchandise location currently attached to the attraction’s show building. This suggests a comprehensive reimagining that will fully integrate Muppets theming throughout the entire experience.
