Walt Disney World has revealed new details about Big Thunder Mountain Railroad’s refurbishment ahead of its spring reopening at Magic Kingdom.
The attraction will feature:
- All-New Ride Vehicles: Brand-new trains will replace the existing fleet, marking the first complete vehicle replacement since the attraction opened in 1980.
- Refreshed Audio-Animatronics: The mine’s inhabitants and animal figures will receive technical updates and refurbishment throughout the ride.
- Updated Storyline: The narrative will focus on the mountain itself pushing back against miners, adding a new, thrilling element.
- Gold Props: For the first time, visible gold props will appear on the mountain, reinforcing the mining theme and story elements.
