Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland will introduce storylines spanning multiple eras of the Star Wars timeline from 29th April 2026, bringing characters from across the saga to Black Spire Outpost.

Galaxy’s Edge Era Shift

The land will shift backwards in time by several decades to incorporate the Galactic Civil War and New Republic era alongside the existing Age of the Resistance setting. The forested Resistance camp area will continue to represent the First Order conflict, with Rey remaining in that section and Rise of the Resistance maintaining its sequel trilogy storyline.

Disney describes the approach as “masterfully weaving together stories from across time and space in one location,” with each era receiving the same attention to detail as the land’s original 2019 design.

More Characters

Darth Vader will patrol Black Spire Outpost alongside Imperial Stormtroopers, searching for Luke Skywalker and seeking hints of the Force around the settlement.

Luke Skywalker will roam the outpost investigating Force knowledge, lightsaber construction, and kyber crystals. His search will lead him to Savi’s Workshop, where guests can still build their own lightsabers under the guidance of Savi’s Gatherers.

Leia Organa will appear near the Millennium Falcon, recruiting travellers and locals to protect Luke from Imperial forces.

Encounter Ahsoka Tano and The Mandalorian and Grogu near the marketplace.

Han Solo will linger around the Falcon whilst eyeing up the local cantina, Oga’s.

Chewbacca will also appear throughout the rocky spires alongside the core trio.

Star Wars’ Original Scores to Play

John Williams’ scores from the first six Star Wars films will play throughout the land for the first time. The iconic “Main Title” and Force Theme will greet guests in the tunnels leading into Galaxy’s Edge, with motifs from “Han Solo and the Princess,” “The Desert and the Robot Auction,” “The Emperor,” and other classic tracks heard throughout Black Spire Outpost.

New Shop Updates

First Order Cargo transforms into Black Spire Surplus, a military salvage operation stocking artifacts from across galactic history, including Imperial and Rebel items from the Galactic Civil War era.

Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities will display a different collection of curiosities and artifacts reflecting earlier periods of Batuu’s history.

Droid Depot will now be operated by an earlier generation of the Mubo family, who are prototyping the BB-series droids. Guests can still purchase and build their own droid companions.

Savi’s Workshop continues operating as before, though Luke Skywalker’s interest in lightsaber knowledge adds narrative context to the secretive operation.

The multi-era approach marks the most significant creative shift for Galaxy’s Edge since the land opened in 2019. Disney has not indicated whether similar changes will come to the Walt Disney World version of the land.
