Disneyland has blessed guests with an early Christmas present: the opening of Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond. This delightfully eerie new gift shop creaked open its doors today, December 23, 2024, as part of the much-anticipated expansion of the Haunted Mansion grounds.
The opening follows a year of transformation for the Haunted Mansion. The attraction temporarily closed in January to accommodate construction but has since reopened with an expanded queue area. Now, the grounds are even more enchanting, with the addition of a new destination that’s steeped in lore. The Disney Parks Instagram shared some photos of the new shop.
Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond
The official Disneyland website describes the shop as “A ghostly retreat, so enter if you dare for apparel, accessories, plush, and headwear. Where home goods lurk and collectibles drop, the perfect gift dwells in this very shop.”
Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond is housed in a meticulously themed building styled as a carriage house, once belonging to the enigmatic Madame Leota herself. According to Disney lore, while Madame Leota now flits between her crystal ball and the ethereal realms, her former residence has been reimagined as a haven for collectors and ghostly enthusiasts alike.
Inside, visitors will find an array of haunting decor. Think flickering candles, mysterious tomes, and mesmerising floating instruments. The shop offers merch inspired by both the Haunted Mansion and Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.
