Disney’s Test Track attraction will reopen on 22nd July 2025 after months of closure for a major tech upgrade.
The revamped ride at EPCOT will feature an entirely new musical score and cutting-edge scenes that showcase how modern vehicles use advanced technology to navigate the world.
The attraction maintains its core mission of celebrating automotive innovation while emphasising the human side of driving. Disney says the updated experience highlights how road trips remain about spending quality time with friends and family whilst appreciating the world around you.
The New Test Track
One standout addition demonstrates how cars use cameras and sensors to “see” their surroundings. Disney Imagineers have created this effect using more than 29,000 individual points of light to show guests what driving looks like through a vehicle’s electronic eyes.

Walt Disney Imagineers are currently putting the finishing touches on the attraction as the 22 July reopening date approaches. The team is working to get every detail perfect before guests can experience the new technology-focused scenes.
Test Track originally opened in 1999 and has undergone several updates over the years. This latest refresh continues the ride’s tradition of showcasing both current and future automotive technology through an immersive Disney experience.
The attraction remains sponsored by General Motors and will continue to blend educational elements about car technology with the thrill of high-speed driving that has made it a guest favourite for over two decades.
