Disney has confirmed that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will open in summer 2026 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The reimagined attraction will follow the Electric Mayhem band as they race across Hollywood to make it to their concert on time. The storyline centres on band manager Scooter attempting to convince the musicians to leave the recording studio, aided by a team of penguin audio engineers.
The Muppets Scooter Audio-Animatronic
Disney confirmed that Scooter will appear as an Audio-Animatronic figure – the first time the character has been created in this format. The company also hinted at additional Muppet animatronics joining the attraction, though specifics have not yet been revealed.
The rethemed coaster will retain the high-speed launch and inversions of the original Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, whilst incorporating what Disney describes as “backstage chaos” and “signature Muppet humour” throughout the experience.
Disney announced the Muppets retheme in August 2024 as part of a broader Hollywood Studios expansion that includes a Monsters, Inc. land replacing the existing Muppet*Vision 3D attraction and surrounding area. The coaster retheme allows Disney to maintain a Muppets presence in the park whilst making way for the new development.
