Disneyland Paris has unveiled a next-generation robotic Olaf, the beloved snowman from Frozen, in a showcase led by Bruce Vaughn, President and Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Imagineering, and Natacha Rafalski, President of Disneyland Paris.
The lifelike Olaf blends advanced technology with storytelling. He has fully moving eyes and mouth, a removable carrot nose and arms, and can speak and interact with guests. His snow-like shimmer, enhanced with iridescent fibres, moves naturally, while artificial intelligence and reinforcement learning give him fluid, expressive motions.
A Next-Generation Olaf Robot

Developers collaborated closely with the original animators at Walt Disney Animation Studios to ensure every gesture remains true to Olaf’s personality. Unlike previous robotic characters such as the Star Wars BDX droids, Olaf’s design emulates non-physical movements, raising the bar for interactive Disney figures.
Olaf marks a new chapter in Disney character innovation, demonstrating how technology and artistry are coming together to bring animated favourites to life across the parks.
Disney shared a video of the robot on social media:
The Olaf robot will make appearances in both Disneyland Paris when World of Frozen opens on 29 March 2026, and also in Hong Kong Disneyland.
